West's Interactive Casebook Series®
A Contemporary Approach to Teaching and Learning Civil Procedure
The Interactive Casebook originated with West's desire to provide students with a learning resource more in tune to the way that law student's think and learn today. With that in mind, we partnered with A. Benjamin Spencer, to create our first ever Interactive Casebook, Civil Procedure: A Contemporary Approach. Learn more about author A. Benjamin Spencer.
Civil Procedure: A Contemporary Approach is a new breed of casebook that provides a comprehensive treatment of first-year civil procedure topics presented in a clear and concise format that is accessible and engaging to students. The casebook features a novel visual display and layout that uses text boxes, diagrams, and color/border segregated feature sections for hypotheticals, references to scholarly debates, useful information for students, and questions to provoke thought. A major distinguishing feature of the book is its inclusion of an accompanying electronic version with the extensive hyperlinking to Westlaw versions of legal materials, Black's Law Dictionary definitions, supplementary online resources, and more.
- Simultaneous print version and electronic publication (user may only access e-version by purchasing print book), with a searchable text that can be highlighted or otherwise annotated by users
- Electronic version includes extensive hyperlinking to Westlaw versions of legal materials, Black's Law Dictionary, supplementary online resources, and internal cross-references
- Layout departs from the traditional, all-text casebook format through use of marginalia/text boxes, diagrams, and color/border segregated feature sections for hypotheticals, references to scholarly debates, or other information
The second edition reflects the re-wording of the federal rules and completely incorporates the U.S. Supreme Court pleading decision.
